What first got me interested in care giving is the diagnosis of my dad. He has had Alzheimer's for ab 10 years now. The progression has definitely been hard on my mom. So to be able to help and give her a break and also spend time with him has been a great privilege. I have always loved helping elderly people. I feel you should have a love for this job for the ones who need the extra help and companionship. For we all will be there one day. I love talking and helping them to continue to interact. I think it is very important to keep going. Being a cosmetologist I'm used to doing hair in nursing homes occasionally. I have learned you just have to slow down and have patience.
